Teardrop Braid

The basic teardrop braid is beautiful.

Any number of strands may be used while creating it.

Blue TeardropSuch an elegant braid. Yes, it is a little more complicated in its creation but once you understand the tricks in making it you will be pleased with this form.

teardropsWhen the top portion of the form is completed you may finish the form with any number of strands. In this example I used 3-strands on top in the dutch pattern. I used a 2-strand french herringbone to finish the bottom portion of the form. The more you practice the better it will look. I hope to see photos of your teardrops in our facebook group.

Heart Braid

There are four kinds of Heart Braids

Basic: The simplest is the basic heart. All the hair is incorporated in the form.

Accent: The accented heart uses strands of hair to add pretty accents to the style.

Cascade: The cascade heart leaves half the hair down to soften the look.

Accented Cascade: And finally, the accented cascade heart both leaves half the hair down and adds accents for beauty.

More Base Braids

Here is the second style from our previous canvas.

A canvas is a braid done up to a point. After the base part of the braid is done…you can create dozens of styles from that base canvas.

canvasThis style has several mini two-strand knot braids. Use the accent strands to create as many as you need to make the style the way you wish.

chained 9When you have created as many mini two-strand knot braids as you need…bobby pin the tails of each in place. Secure the style using as many bobby pins as it takes.

Adding Fake Hair

Neon or natural?

That is the question I ask myself when contemplating adding bobby pin hair extensions into a day hairstyle.

heart fakeThe person, special occasion, and availability answer each situation as it arises. Today it is pretty easy to find hair extensions to match any hair color. Both real and fake hair are priced reasonable.

Fringe Braids

There are four kinds of Fringe Braids

Basic: The simplest is the basic fringe. All the hair is incorporated in the form.

Accent: The accented fringe uses strands of hair to add pretty accents to the style.

Cascade: The cascade fringe leaves half the hair down to soften the look.

Accented Cascade: And finally, the accented cascade fringe both leaves half the hair down and adds accents for beauty.

variation 4As you can see the fringe can be created using any number of strands that you desire. Feel free to use any accent on the fringe form when you are accenting. I have yet to use one that does not look good.

Feather Loose

Super loose braids can be super pretty.

Add a touch of elegance to your french braid today. Braid it as loose as you can to get that feathery feel. Tuck up the tail under the braid to finish off the look.
